What the MSD Rate Commission does

  • Reviews all rate proposals
  • Hosts public hearings on rate proposals
  • Makes a recommendation to MSD’s Board of Trustees

Who is the Rate Commission?

The Rate Commission was established in 2000 through voter approved amendments to MSD’s Charter and is composed of 15 member organizations representing a broad cross-section of MSD customers and the community it serves.

The Latest

The Rate Commission is reviewing the 2018 Stormwater Capital Rate Proposal.

  • The Stormwater Capital Rate Proposal will help MSD address localized flooding and erosion problems.
  • The annual charge is expected to be about $27 per year or $2.25 per month for the average single family homeowner.
  • The Rate Commission will hold public hearings in May and June 2018 to present information and hear the public’s comments on the proposed rate increase.
  • The proposition is expected to be presented to voters in April 2019.

Public hearings will be held throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area in May and June. Join the discussion and provide feedback on proposed rates at one of the six meetings listed below or join via social media in the streaming meeting.
