Feedback from all of the Stormwater Services Community Outreach Meetings and online surveys will be presented to the Rate Commission, set to convene in 2015.

Rate Commission

As part of voter approved changes to MSD’s charter, the Rate Commission was established in 2000. The commission consists of 15 member organizations that represent a broad cross-section of our customers and the community we serve. The commission’s purpose is to provide public input into how MSD sets its rates. The commission is required by charter to review all rate proposals and render an opinion before submitting recommendations to MSD’s Board of Trustees.

The Rate Commission process includes multiple public hearings throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area where MSD customers have an opportunity to provide feedback on the rate proposal. The entire Rate Commission proceedings may take up to 165 days from the date the District submits a rate proposal for consideration. All Rate Commission meetings are open to the public. The date, time and location of Rate Commission meetings are posted on the MSD website.
